My Services

Life can be challenging and we experience different pressures and demands at different times. If we have experienced difficulties early on in our life this can impact on how we cope with the challenges of life and can lead to daily struggles. We can also find that we are struggling to cope when we have experienced a build-up of stress or traumatic events. These struggles can manifest in a variety of ways and sometimes it can be difficult to make sense of what we are experiencing and to know what we need.

I will work gently and sensitively with you throughout the process of assessment and we will develop a shared understanding of your difficulties. This shared understanding will then help us to consider options for therapy. I will be committed to working ethically with you to help you make an informed decision about the type of therapy that would be most appropriate.

I’m trained in a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches and work as an integrative clinical psychologist. This enables me to provide well-researched psychological approaches that have been demonstrated to help improve psychological and emotional wellbeing. I tend to mostly draw from the following approaches:

  • Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)

  • ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)

  • Trauma-Focused Models

  • Somatic Approaches

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

  • Schema Therapy

I will work collaboratively with you to develop an appropriate plan for therapy. This may involve focusing more on the present day and perhaps drawing from CBT or ACT approaches or may be more about focusing on past experiences and drawing from Trauma-Focused approaches. Either way, we will work together to make sense of what is driving and maintaining your difficulties as a starting point for change.
